TRiM is a welfare led process intended to assess the response of an individual who has been exposed to a potentially traumatic incident or experience.
Individuals who have been subjected to a potentially traumatic incident or experience could develop long-term psychological problems, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
TRiM can assist in minimising this risk.
TRiM is a 1-2-1 assessment, which is conducted 72hrs following the traumatic incident. It will assist the individual with processing the incident and assess for signs of PTSD.
As an experienced TRiM Manager, Vicky prides herself on providing a high quality and supportive service to those who have been exposed to potentially traumatic incidents.
Immediately following a traumatic incident, dependent on the scale of the event, we would request to receive contact from the organisation to discuss individuals who have been exposed/involved in the incident or experience.
Within the next 24 hours, our TRiM Manager will discuss with the individual, manager or organisation whether an intervention is required further to the TRiM criteria being met.
We will require the following information:
Over the next 72+ hours our TRiM Manager will conduct a briefing with those who have been referred to us, conduct risk assessments, produce personal reports for the individual, signpost to relevant support services, and, if necessary, arrange a follow-up meeting(s) (usually 1 & 3 months post initial assessment).
Where needed we will also support managers and supervisors who will need to ensure that they continue to monitor and support affected individuals.
At Investicase, we recognise that TRiM Managers may also require support further to providing services. We are qualified in providing support and supervision to TRiM practitioners.
