Post Incident Support

After a traumatic incident we will provided a dedicated timeline of support.

Immediately after the incident, depending on the scale of the event, we would request to receive contact from the organisation to discuss individuals who have been affected by the incident or experience.

Within the next 24 hours, our TRiM Manager will discuss with the individual, manager or organisation whether an intervention is required further to the TRiM criteria being met. For this to occur we need to know the following information:

  • Details of the event
  • Details of any shift patterns for the individual
  • Contact telephone numbers

Over the next 72+ hours our TRiM Manager will conduct a briefing with those who have been referred to us, conduct risk assessments, refer individuals who are considered to be at risk to counselling or other support services, and arrange a follow-up meeting as needed (normally within one month and three months following initial assessment).

We will then ensure that any follow-up assessments are undertaken with the individuals. Where needed we will also support managers and supervisors who will need to ensure that they continue to monitor and support affected individuals.
